An AI-native startup intelligence and company-discovery database for investors and GTM teams, positioned as "the complete startup database" — covering companies from incorporation through scale-up, with founder/people data and a firm's own network context layered on top. (Distinct from the unrelated harmonic.fun math-AI lab and harmonic.security DLP company.)
Company discovery and search across a very large database of private companies, filterable by sector, geography, funding stage, founder background, headcount, and hiring velocity. Deep people/talent data spanning founders, executives, engineers, and operators, enabling team-quality and "founder-before-company" detection. Time-series traction metrics (headcount, follower counts, web traffic). Real-time alerts and monitoring. Network mapping overlays a firm's LinkedIn connections, email/calendar, and CRM engagements to surface warm-intro paths. Quarterly "Harmonic Hot 25" rankings derived from aggregated investor interest.
Scout, Harmonic's AI agent for investors, supports natural-language queries (describe a thesis, receive evaluated results rather than keyword matches), generates relevance scores against user-defined criteria, drafts research/diligence reports, and writes outreach. ML classifies and merges fragmented public data (filings, registries, digital activity) into deduplicated profiles. Data scale per harmonic.ai's own 2026 pages: 35M+ companies and 195M+ professional profiles, kept fresh by Harmonic's data engine. REST + GraphQL API (~10 req/sec). Bulk delivery to Snowflake, BigQuery, and S3 with weekly refreshes. First-party hosted MCP endpoint (mcp.api.harmonic.ai) plus community MCP servers. Chrome extension; Zapier and n8n; native Affinity integration; CRM sync via Polytomic.
Sales-led, demo-and-quote — no public pricing, self-serve signup, or free plan. Tiers reported by third parties: Enterprise Console (web platform with records, network mapping, Scout, CSV export, AI diligence reports, enterprise security), API Access (CRM/internal-tool enrichment and programmatic discovery), and Bulk Data (warehouse delivery). Financing/investor data and no-code CRM sync are add-ons. Third-party reviews report ~$25K/year entry with a ~3-seat minimum (~$10K/seat/year); treat as estimates and confirm with sales.
Native Affinity; Salesforce and other CRMs via sync; Polytomic; Chrome extension; Slack; Zapier and n8n; REST/GraphQL API; warehouse delivery to Snowflake/BigQuery/S3; first-party MCP plus community MCP servers.
SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 referenced on Harmonic's site, with enterprise security features in the Enterprise Console tier. Detailed public docs on retention and model-training posture are limited — request trust/security documentation directly.
Founded 2020, HQ New York (originally remote). Co-founders Max Ruderman (CEO, ex-Google Search ~6.5 years), Bryan Casey, and Ajay Sohmshetty. Headcount ~84 as of April 2026 (Tracxn). Funding: $7M seed in 2021 (Craft Ventures lead per the company; Floodgate also cited in press) and $23M Series A in November 2022 led by Sozo Ventures with Craft Ventures participating — ~$30M total across two rounds, no later round found as of 2026. Investors cited include Sozo, Craft, Floodgate, and Accel; some third-party profiles list SignalFire (unconfirmed). Customers include Accel, Greylock, Menlo, NEA, Insight, plus GTM teams at Notion, Brex, Google, and Retool.
Strong fit for proactive, thesis-driven sourcing and market mapping, especially at early stages where Harmonic claims to surface companies months before mainstream databases. People-data layer supports founder tracking and talent diligence; network mapping supports warm-intro sourcing. AI/data use cases: natural-language sourcing via Scout, programmatic enrichment of CRM/data warehouse via API or bulk data, and agentic workflows via MCP.
Not a CRM — does not manage relationships, pipeline, or portfolio administration; pair with a system of record. Relationship intelligence is visibility-based and lacks the connection-strength scoring of dedicated XRM tools. Verified contact data (emails/phones) is a known gap; teams often pair with a contact-data tool. Opaque pricing and no free trial raise evaluation friction; reported data-count discrepancies across Harmonic's own pages are worth probing. High data volume creates a learning curve and screening burden for lean teams.
