Notion AI is built into Business and Enterprise plans (no longer a standalone add-on as of May 2025) and is highly recommended — the team finds it amazing and super helpful. Notion is constantly shipping new AI capabilities: it can organize data, read and summarize long documents, place generated content anywhere on a page, tag and classify attributes automatically, and run autonomous agents. Multi-model access lets users select among frontier models (GPT-5.x, Claude Opus, Gemini) with an "Auto" option. Includes Notion Agent and Custom Agents (autonomous multi-step automation on a credit system — $10 per 1,000 Notion credits), AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search across workspace and connected apps, and AI Connectors. Official remote MCP server (local repo deprecated); migrated to API version 2025-09-03 with a "data sources" abstraction.

Enterprise Search + AI agents can surface internal knowledge; MCP server enables AI-native querying. Often paired with a dedicated CRM (Attio/Affinity) rather than serving as the system of record for deal flow.
Notion AI requires Business tier minimum ($20/user/month); cannot access real-time external data beyond connected apps; per-seat AI billing can waste spend on inactive users; performance can lag on AI-heavy pages.
