Module 06

Voice to Text

Turn every call, meeting, and voice note into searchable, actionable text in real time.

The best intelligence in a firm often lives in spoken form — founder calls, expert interviews, partner discussions, and the raw thinking that happens in real time. Voice to text is not just about transcription. It is about capturing thought at the speed it happens and getting it into systems where it can be refined, shared, and acted on.

Wispr Flow: our tool of choice

We use Wispr Flow layer. It is the cleanest implementation we have found: hit a hotkey, layer. It is the cleanest implementation we have found: hit a hotkey, start speaking, and text appears wherever your cursor is on screen. No app switching, no copy-paste dance, no context loss. It just lands where you need it.

The accuracy is very good, and the friction is near zero. That combination matters because voice to text only works if you actually reach for it. Wispr Flow makes that reach effortless.

Where it shines

This is especially useful for long winded write ups — the kind of sprawling memos, deal notes, or strategy pieces where getting thoughts out fast matters more than getting every word perfect on the first pass. It is also ideal for writing to AI systems like Claude, where preserving the exact wording of a polished email is not the goal. What you want is the raw signal, the full context, and your natural voice. The AI will shape it from there.

Brainstorming is another natural fit. Speaking ideas aloud unlocks a different cadence than typing. Partners and analysts both find it easier to dump a full mental model in one go and then edit, rather than constructing it sentence by sentence at a keyboard.

Claude's native voice to text

Claude has its own native voice to text feature, and it works fine in our experience. If you are already deep in the Claude workflow and do not want another tool, it is a reasonable path. That said, we prefer Wispr Flow for its hotkey-to-cursor speed and its ability to drop text into any surface, not just the Claude chat window.

The bottom line

Firms lose an enormous amount of raw intelligence because it never gets captured. Partners have the thought on a walk, in a car, on a call, and it evaporates. A fast, accurate voice to text layer closes that gap. It is not a nice-to-have; it is an input layer for the entire stack.
